{Sleepover}

Remy and Gabby LOVE playing with their cousins... These are our cousins Jaxton and Brexen they live in Hurricane UT, just about a half hour from us, but it seems that even in the summertime with our busy schedules we don't get to see each other as often as we would like,
this week was fun for them though, they got to have a sleepover at Jaxton and Brexens one night and our house the next night... Gabby loves sleeping over at their house, she loves playing with their baby brother Kika and Aunt Julie always spoils her by doing her hair and nails.. Aunt Julie just needs a little girl too... but for now Gabby is more than happy to have the special attention.

Although the boys would all be happy playing video games... and the drums all day, I wanted to get them out of the house for a while, if you know what I mean {translation} a person can only hear so much of those drums before they go completely insane..
so we went to Judd's store downtown and had ice cream {if you don't know Judd's store, it's an old time candy store/ice cream parlor downtown, it has been there forever... my brothers and sisters and I would always walk there after school, or during lunch when our schools were just across the street.. that was a million years ago, and funny not much about Judd's has changed} That downtown area is my old stomping ground, so i love for my kids to know those places too {I'm all about the old school baby}

Oh and Remy and Gabby are ready for another sleepover whenever you are Aunt Julie...

{Fourth of July at Veyo Pool}

It's kind of a tradition for our friends and family to spend the fourth of July at the Veyo pool... Its about a 20 minute drive out of town and well worth it. It's always at least 10 degrees cooler than St. George and there is just so much to do... The kids love to catch crawdads in the stream that runs along the pool area {the pool is made from natural spring water} It's a small pool well used and well loved. not many changes have been made since my childhood days when my family would come up. they did remove the slide and the diving board, but the food is still as good as it ever was. they do allow picnicking and bbq's as well as rock climbing and volleyball. They also offer overnight camping... It's a great place.

We had a really good turn out this year, My friend Donna {who is also Lance's cousin} came with her two daughters Brooke and Brandi. Donna's sisters Laurie and Julie were also in town from Elk Grove Ca, and West Jordan UT with their families. My Bro Nick and his fam, My sis Heather and her kids, Our friends Tuesdee and Eric and their 3 girls and even Uncle Jimmy... not too shabby. I didn't take a TON of pictures this time...I was all about relaxing!

I finished Eclipse and i am anxiously awaiting the release of Breaking Dawn...

If there is anyone left out there who has not read the books, what are you waiting for? you still have time to catch up before the 4th book comes out on Aug 2nd.

{Fireworks}

every year we park ourselves up on the black hill under the "D" to watch the fireworks {for those of you who know, it's actually at the empty lot next to Jim and Deanna's old house on the hill} it's our favorite spot for watching the fireworks... here are some of my fav's.

while the kids were having fun with the sparklers, Bryant and I tried to get a little more creative with them... We have an art book where it shows Picasso drawing a picture of a bull where his brush is actually a lit cigarette and all you see is the light in the shape of a bull its pretty cool...

our attempt was alot of fun, but we didn't end up with any cool light drawings... Bryant did get his name down pretty good though.

{We're Back}

Well we are back and I would like to say back to normal, but things have been so crazy since we got back... I guess that is normal though huh? Anyways, {I'll start at the beginning} the day we left for California Lance had an early morning interview with a company called Mikohn, they build gaming equipment {slot machines and such} they called him on the Friday after we got back and asked if he could start on Monday....Yesterday! He wanted to take a 2 week leave of absence from Smiths {the job he has had for the past 12 years} and test the water before he dove in, but he ended up quitting Smiths and taking the job at Mikohn, where he will be in Receiving... This is a stable company where he has the potential to earn a lot more money, so we are really excited about it. Everyone wish him luck! I know this is going to be a good thing...It took a lot of guts to just dive in like that, I'm really proud of him.

Oh yeah, and if any of you happen to be in the San Francisco Bay Area Aug 22th-24th, this festival looks pretty cool, I'd check it out!

I finished New Moon, and it did get better towards the second half of the book! I am now reading Eclipse {book three in the series} and i LOVE it! all the characters I love are right there where I want them to be... I'm sure I will have it finished before the fourth one comes out Aug 2nd. I have also been watching the movie trailers online and am very excited for the movie {coming this December} My friends and I are having "Team Edward" shirts made up for the movie's premiere. if you haven't checked out the trailers you can do it here...

{Grandpa Scotty's House}

Well the vacation is officially O.V.E.R. We had such a good time we spent most of our time relaxing at my Dad's house and visiting family. the kids love swimming in the pool and rockin' out in the band room! Gabby loves to wake up early and feed Pancho the kitty, and help Grandpa make fresh fruit smoothies for breakfast. Grandpa even let the kids plant more strawberries so next time we come out they will have even more to pick. As most of you already know, Lance was able to take a vacation with us after all. yay!

{Jelly Belly}

Why yes... that IS a portrait of George Clooney made entirely of Jelly Belly's, not to shabby huh?

okay so they have this game at the Jelly Belly factory called "bean-boozled"... they give you a jelly bean and you don't know what it is until its to late... it could be peach or VOMIT! that's so sick... the only ones i tried was toothpaste and a tiny nibble of skunk spray... it tasted just like you think it tasted. Bryant tried all of them he said the worst was the rotten egg... nasty.

It was a fun day at the Jelly Belly factory we got to take a tour and see how Jelly Belly's are made. we got to test out all the new flavors, my favorite new flavor was pomegranate! the kids went nuts picking out flavors and sampling... Between my Dad and Uncle Keith we managed to buy around $80 dollars in jellybeans. can you believe that crap?!

I do kick myself now for not getting some of those nasty flavors though... Oh how i would love to bring a bag of jelly belly's into work to share with my co-workers... with just a few of those flavors mingled in for fun... Muh ha ha! the laughs I would have at their expense... I do mentally torture myself for not thinking of it sooner... I am usually so much more in tune with the practical joking... it must be that dang book preoccupying my mind. I'm just not on my game!

I had him do this trick for the kids... he can touch his tounge to his nose. i used to get a kick out of that...they sure did too! what a character that man is... and sharp as a tack, at 87! My Mom spent most her days down here with him. I sure wish we would have had a longer vacation this year! I miss all my family in California.
